Dear Member,

The existence of DNA, the building block of life, was one of the most important scientific discoveries ever made. It is present in nearly every cell of your body and is the blueprint of who you are.

The color of your hair and eyes, the shape of your nose and ears, and so much more, were all predicted by the DNA you were born with.

Essentially, your DNA is who you were, are and will be, right? Surprisingly, the answer is a resounding No!

In laboratory settings, scientists are able to manipulate DNA to produce outcomes that are different than those predicted by the original DNA structures.

Our understanding of DNA is expanding rapidly, and one of the most remarkable findings is that, you can change your DNA.

Institute of HeartMath (IHM) researchers have shown that factors such as the appreciation and love we have for someone or the anger and anxiety we feel can influence and alter the outcomes that may be predicted by your DNA blueprint. (Learn more on this topic in the IHM article, You Can Change Your DNA.)

Researchers at IHM conducted controlled scientific trials that proved that our feelings, or emotions, including those we intentionally engage, can actually alter the structure of our DNA strands.

In the article, Modulation of DNA Conformation by Heart-Focused Intention, IHM researchers wrote about their findings in a study set up to determine whether trial participants could influence the structure of DNA strands.

"The results provide experimental evidence to support the hypothesis that aspects of the DNA molecule can be altered through intentionality," the article states. "The data indicate that when individuals are in a heart-focused, loving state and in a more coherent mode of physiological functioning, they have a greater ability to alter the conformation of DNA."
